What is this event about? The EDEN Duo is a multi-sport endurance event for pairs and 4 man/woman, relay teams. The total distance will cover about 150k’s. Athletes will trail run, mountain bike and paddle in pairs to cover the distance. The relay teams will race in pairs as well, relaying from one pair to another from one discipline to another as they prefure.
The relay teams will only be formed by a team of 4 (four) members. What can you expect in this race? All activities can be described as off the beaten track racing. The difference between this event and a triathlon is that teams will follow an easy map between transition areas without bunting telling them where to race. Support crew will be needed to help you upload your gear, to move your vehicle between transition areas and to prepare your food intake.
The official RACE BIB must be used by ALL Racers.

The KLOOFING section
The kloofing is a low impact activity but absolutely fun. Teenagers can do this and the only skill required is that you must be able to walk on rocks. We will not take you over a cliff or through a high jump. The top athletes will race the distance in 45 minutes and the more relaxed teams will cover the distance easily in 2 hours. The kloofing is compulsory for all the team members. We start on the beach in front of the Touws River following a 500m beach run and proceed up the Kaaymans River. If the river is flooded we will take a detour option.
RELAY Teams
The reasons for the RELAY Team category options are as follows;
- Enable top bikers/runners/canoeists to form a professional relay team to race hard in all 3 disciplines and to combine in a team effort.
- To draw more adventurers into this multidisciplinary sport.
- To enable newcomers into the sport and to enjoy what is so well known to the adventure and endorphin addicts.
